If there’s a person out there who actually likes living under a Homeowners Association, let me know, because I haven’t found one yet. Neither has William Bagley, apparently, as the HOA in his new film Hold the Fort appears as one of its primary antagonists. The film, which premieres at this year’s Fantasia Festival, pits a couple against not only their local HOA, but also a horde of demonic monsters, and FANGORIA is excited to exclusively premiere the first teaser trailer for the film.

Written and directed by Bagley from a story by Scott Hawkins, Hold the Fort stars Chris Mayers, Haley Leary, and Julian Smith, with producers Matt Dodd, Luke Williams, Tim Reis, and Julian Smith. The film’s synopsis is as follows:

Lucas and Jenny think their life is finally coming together when the couple become homeowners. Little do they know that their new house comes with a big catch. Lucas and Jenny soon find themselves in a fight for their lives when they become trapped in a battle between their Homeowners Association and an onslaught of monsters from hell. The horror-comedy takes the timely concern of home-ownership and wraps this up in an entertaining action-packed thrill ride.

“Hold the Fort is an experience! My goal with this film was to make a hilarious fast-paced thrill ride while also telling a great story with heart,” Bagley said. “Hopefully, through all the blood, laughs, fights, and gags, you leave the film feeling inspired to tackle whatever life throws at you. Or at the very least, you have a great time!”

The lean seventy-four minute film will have its world premiere on the opening night of Fantasia Festival on July 16 in the DeSeve Theater, with a repeat screening at noon on July 26.

Hold the Fort has not yet set a wide release date. Check out the trailer below, and stay tuned to FANGORIA for more updates.
