Popular horror host Svengoolie just wants a night off — and his loyal (if distracted) companions are here to take the reins! FANGORIA is excited to partner with MeTV to premiere an exclusive clip from this weekend’s episode of House of Svengoolie, featuring the premiere of a brand new movie joining the Svengoolie library: Earth Girls Are Easy, the 1988 sci-fi comedy starring Geena Davis And Jeff Goldblum.
Rich Koz’s Svengoolie gets his much-needed break in the new episode as his friends Gwengoolie (Sarah Palmer), IMP (Ignatius Malvolio Prankerstein, played by Scott Gryder) and Nostalgiaferatoo (Bill Leff) take over hosting duties for the July 26 episode.
Our exclusive clip, which you can watch down below, features the episode’s brand new intro, where Svengoolie’s friends aren’t so sure that he hasn’t died or been fired. (Fair question!) The episode is also set to feature an interview with Julie Brown, who features in Earth Girls Are Easy as Candy Pink.
But, if you aren’t going to be in front of your TV because you’ll be too busy at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, we’ve got great news for you: the Sven Squad is making their way to the event for their very own panel! Koz, Palmer, Gryder, and Leff will all be in appearance at the San Diego Convention Center’s Ballroom 7AB at 7:30 p.m. PT, joined by executive producer Jim Roche and moderator Dan DiDio for a panel celebrating the history of TV horror hosting, from Vampira all the way to Svengoolie himself. Attendees of the panel will all receive an SDCC exclusive Svengoolie and Sven Squad collectible trading card set and a limited edition Svengoolie button.
