Heaven might in fact be a place on Earth, but it seems like there’s some room for some evil, too. At least, that’s what Peacock thinks, as they release the first full trailer for their upcoming pop-horror series Hysteria!, about what happens when the Devil comes calling and no one’s there to answer the door.

Set in the middle of the Satanic Panic of the 1980s, Hysteria! follows a group of teens who are convinced that exploiting the local panic will help boost their image as a heavy metal band. What they don’t know is that pretending to be Satanists has awoken a dark force beyond their understanding, threatening not just them, but everything they hold dear, and whipping up a leather-studded witch hunt that leads right back to their door.

Hysteria! stars Julie Bowen as a concerned, shoulder-padded mother, while Anna Camp co-stars in a frankly terrifying Farrah Fawcett-inspired wig, and the king of slashers himself, Bruce Campbell, is out of the hero spotlight for once, featuring as a special guest star as the sheriff of a town pulled into utter chaos. The series also features Emjay Anthony, Milly Shapiro, Allison Scagliotti, and Nikki Hahn, as well as executive producers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, better known for their own foray into occult magic with Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

It’s not the first time modern Hollywood has decided to throw it back to the ‘80s with its horror comedies, and not even the first time this year. Lisa Frankenstein embraced the chantilly lace and Aqua Net of the mid-’80s as it hacked up bodies this spring, and last year’s Totally Killer also featured Julie Bowen as a concerned mother in the midst of a killing frenzy. (Maybe take a time machine away from all the slashers next time?)

All episodes of Hysteria! will premiere on Peacock on October 18, with the series making its linear premiere on USA Network and SYFY the same day, with new episodes broadcast each week. Check out the new trailer below:
