We're still waiting on confirmation as to whether or not Brandy is set to return to her role as fan-favorite character Karla Wilson from 1998 sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
Robinson wrote the script for I Know What You Did Last Summer alongside Sam Lansky, based on a story conceived with Leah McKendrick (M.F.A). The pic follows:
When five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge.
As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.
The original I Know What You Did Last Summer (directed by Jim Gillespie) follows ‘four young friends bound by a tragic accident who are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town.' Along with Wes Craven's 1996 classic Scream, the film was partly responsible for revitalizing the slasher genre in the '90s boom, as well as helping to launch the careers of Hewitt, Prinze, Buffy superstar Sarah Michelle Gellar and Cruel Intentions' Ryan Phillippe.
Original IKWYDLS producer Neal H. Moritz returns to produce on the sequel, with Robinson, Jackie Shenoo, and Karina Rahardja exec producing.
