Ice Nine Kills is once again teaming up with a horror legend for something fans will undoubtedly love. The popular heavy metal band has just announced that they’re collaborating with Macabre Spirits, the liquor brand co-owned by Matthew Lillard, to produce a limited edition whiskey that will be available next month.
The new spirit, titled Horrorwood Reserve, brings together Ice Nine Kills’ frontman Spencer Charnas with Lillard and Macabre Spirits co-founder Justin Ware with two collectible limited editions: Golden Age and Silver Scream. Made from Bloody Butcher corn and aged five years in new American white oak, the liquor has a dry, nutty profile with notes of cinnamon, leather, and spice.
“Horrorwood Reserve is the liquid soundtrack to your favorite slasher flick,” says Charnas. “It tastes like suspense, danger, and the satisfaction of surviving until the credits roll.”
Both versions come in a bottle designed by Ice Nine Kills’ Michael Cortada, along with a glass topper and a selection of celebrity cocktail recipe cards from Charnas, Lillard, and a secret lineup of horror icons. The Golden Age edition includes all ten collectible recipe cards and a solid brass skull stopper designed by Ice Nine Kills, retailing for $129.99 USD, and Silver Scream includes two recipe cards and retails for $84.99 USD. Both versions come in bespoke boxes with a personal letter of thanks from Charnas.
But that isn’t the end of the collaboration between Macabre Spirits and the metal band. Lillard will also be featured in Ice Nine Kills’ upcoming music video, which is set to debut sometime in October.
Horrorwood Reserve hits shelves in limited quantities on October 9, with members of Ice Nine Kills’ Psychos Only and Find Familiar Spirits’ Fam Club getting exclusive presale access.
