Ice Nine Kills and Macabre Spirits have joined forces for a very special release, Horrorwood Reserve. INK fans will notice the bottle in the upcoming music video for “The Laugh Track” along with Macabre Spirits co-founder, Matthew Lillard, making his INK Universe debut.
INK and Macabre Spirits hosted the world premiere of the music video alongside a whiskey tasting of Horrorwood Reserve, featuring special recipes like the “Old Slashioned” and a “Piña Killada” (we do love a good pun!). I admit I was a tad apprehensive about a bourbon piña. As someone who enjoys both bourbon and the occasional colada, I have never fused the two together. It was surprisingly delicious. The whiskey itself is smooth enough to sip straight, with light notes of cinnamon. Horrorwood Reserve bottles come with ten collectible drink recipe cards featuring beloved horror icons, plus a brass INK bottle stopper.

Addressing the crowd, Macabre Spirits’ Matthew Lillard celebrated collaborator, INK’s Spencer Charnas, “There is an artistry that Spencer does that I’ve been privy to for the last year. The reality is that when we started this, I didn’t know what to expect. As we’ve grown over the last year, I’ve been shocked and amazed at the level of detail and the amount of creative energy.”
Lillard also called out INK’s Mike Cortada for his “incredible work” designing the Horrorwood Reserve bottle. He also shared that within the first five hours of the pre-sale going live, a quarter of the supply had already sold out.
“Tonight, we are celebrating this music video,” Lillard continued. “In the video, there’s a bottle of whiskey called Horrorwood reserve. This artist [Spencer Charnas] has given his all to the project, and I’ve been blown away by what he’s done.”
Charnas sent us into the video with a toast: “If I were to tell my eleven-year-old self that I was about to introduce a video with some of my favorite actors of all time, Phil Morris from Seinfeld, Terry Kiser from Weekend At Bernie’s… A very good friend of mine, Christopher Nelson, did the makeup for this. He’s amazing. Let’s raise our glasses to Horrorwood Reserve and the world premiere of ‘The Laugh Track.’”
