HBO Max's It prequel series Welcome to Derry officially has a release date, with Bill Skarsgård returning to haunt our nightmares as the iconic creepy clown Pennywise just in time for Halloween.

Per an official announcement on Twitter (seen below), It: Welcome to Derry will officially hit HBO Max on October 26.

Directed and lead by It‘s Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, with Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and Brad Caleb Kane (A24's upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake) serving as showrunners, It: Welcome to Derry is based on interludes from protagonist Mike Hanlon in Stephen King's 1986 novel, and kicks off in 1962 as a lead-up to the events of the 2017 film It: Chapter One

Starring alongside Skarsgård are Taylour Paige (The Toxic Avenger), Jovan Adepo (Babylon, Watchmen), James Remar (Creepshow, Oppenheimer), Madeleine Stowe (Revenge) and Chris Chalk (Perry Mason, Godzilla vs. Kong), Alixandra Fuchs (Boogeyman Pop), Kimberly Guerrero (Reservation Dogs), Dorian Grey (Star Trek: Discovery), Thomas Mitchell (Spiral: From the Book of Saw), BJ Harrison (Rise of the Planet of the Apes), Peter Outerbridge (Saw VI), Shane Marriott (Fargo), Chad Rook (Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City), Joshua Odjick (The Long Walk), Rudy Mancuso (The Flash), and Morningstar Angeline (Echo).

If Welcome to Derry proves a hit with viewers, it could potentially end up being a three season show, with a second season set in 1935, and a third in 1908, tracking the 27-year periods in which Pennywise reemerges to terrorize the children of Derry.

Of course, there's only one way to ensure more seasons of any show, and that's to get watching. So make sure you've marked October 26 in your calendar, and look out for more on It: Welcome to Derry as we get it.
