Today it was announced that actor Jason Patric has joined the cast of Terrifier 3. He joins fellow cast members Lauren LaVera, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam, Chris Jericho, Daniel Roebuck and of course Art the Clown himself, David Howard Thornton. This will be Mr. Patric’s second role in a sequel – following 1997’s Speed 2: Cruise Control – but we’re feeling a bit more optimistic about this one.
Of course, Patric has horror in his blood: he not only broke out in the ’80s vampire classic The Lost Boys, but his father Jason Miller played none other than The Exorcist’s Father Karras, and Patric’s half-sibling Joshua John Miller directed this year’s The Exorcism.
No official word on Patric’s role within the film (Sienna's dad? Happy belated Father's Day?), but the talented actor is sure to bring an extra layer of gravitas to the expanding world of the Cineverse/Bloody Disgusting endeavor.
And it sounds as if director Damien Leone couldn’t be more excited: “To say it's an honor and a privilege having Jason on board is an understatement… He's one of the best actors of his generation and has a deep respect for this franchise and his craft which is why I'm thrilled for fans to see his pivotal role in the Terrifier universe.”
Terrifier 3, a Christmas-set entry in the series (Roebuck is playing Santa!), opens exclusively in theaters on October 11, 2024.
