Settled in the heart of Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood is the perfect place for a movie-lover to get their fix, and now, they’re making things even more enticing as things heat up this summer. The theme has just announced their new Mega Movie Summer seasonal event, which includes tributes to some iconic horror films that’ll help West Coast guests to beat the heat.

The special summertime event will bring some of Universal’s biggest titles to life, including new additions for both Jaws and Jurassic World, to celebrate the former’s fiftieth anniversary and the release of the upcoming Jurassic World Rebirth, starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. Jurassic World — The Ride will be amping up its eighty-four foot water drop in the ride’s finale with the menacing roar of a Mosasaurus, the massive aquatic creature featured in the franchise, and four new spitter dinosaurs and water geysers will also be added to shower guests with plenty of that sweet, sweet chlorinated ride water.

Guests will also be able to encounter a new dinosaur featured in Rebirth alongside Blue the Velociraptor, Baby Tango, and Juliet the Triceratops, all of whom will be joined by a new “adventure character” inspired by Rebirth. The park will also be adding a Spinosaurus photo op, as well as a scavenger hunt featuring, appropriately, the scavenger dinosaur procompsognathus to keep guests on their toes as they trek through the park.

Jaws is getting an even bigger celebration, as the park is bringing back its iconic hanging shark photo op to celebrate the Steven Spielberg film’s fiftieth anniversary. Captain Quint and Chief Brody will also be wandering the park as meet and greet characters, and Jaws will be featured on the park’s fan-favorite Studio tour, as part of their iconic Hollywood Sign replica. Hollywood & Dine, one of the park’s many eateries, will be transformed into Amity Island Cafe, serving up plenty of surf and turf options.

Plenty of other Universal classics will be represented as well, including installations and meet and greet characters for Back to the Future, Wicked, and the live-action How to Train Your Dragon, which also hits theaters this summer alongside Rebirth

Universal Studios’ Mega Movie Summer begins on June 13 and continues through August 10.
