Horror master John Carpenter has announced a deluxe 6xLP vinyl box set collection of the Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends soundtracks coming this fall from Sacred Bones Records.
Composed by Carpenter alongside frequent collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies, the soundtracks to David Gordon Green's Halloween reboot trilogy marked the maestro's return to film scoring after nearly two decades away.
Dropping on October 3, Halloween: The Complete Expanded Collection comes in two variants, Dried Blood and Toxic Pumpkin, and comes with all with new artwork and packaging from artist Chris Bilheimer, exclusive liner notes and interviews with Carpenter and Green, and collectible posters by Creepy Duck Designs. Each soundtrack is also available to purchase individually from $34.
Executive produced by Carpenter, Green's Halloween reboot trilogy serves as a sequel to the 1978 slasher original, bringing star Jamie Lee Curtis back as final girl Laurie Strode and kickstarting the ‘requel' trend that other horror franchises like Scream and, most recently, I Know What You Did Last Summer have also used as a way to resurrect themselves. The trilogy grossed over $400 million worldwide.
As beloved for his iconic scores as he is his game-changing movies, Carpenter is soon to headline Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' Future Ruins festival, as well as starting his first-ever musical residency in Los Angeles following a couple of shows in New York.
