JOHN CARPENTER PRESENTS: Horror Master To Executive Produce Supernatural Anthology Series

The Alaska-set first season will "explore the hidden fears and social anxieties of our time."

Horror master John Carpenter will executive produce a new supernatural anthology series for Elevation Pictures, created and showrun by Michael Amo (Pure, The Listener) and Will Pascoe (Orphan Black, Absentia), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Per THR, the first season of John Carpenter Presents will “channel both Carpenter’s visual style and musical sensibility”, and is set in the remote wilderness of Alaska, following a diverse group of characters facing a chilling mix of supernatural and existential terror. The anthology series will explore the hidden fears and social anxieties of our time, according to a logline from the producers. Alongside Pascoe and Amo, Carpenter and Sandy King Carpenter also produce for Storm King Productions.

Christina Piovesan of Elevation Pictures had the following to say about the new series from The Thing and Halloween legend:

“We’re thrilled to launch into the television space with the master of horror, John Carpenter […] Will and Michael bring deep experience in writing and showrunning and we can’t be more excited for this creative team to bring this series to audiences.”

John Carpenter Presents won't be the maestro's first time in the television anthology game – he helmed two of the best episodes of Mick Garris' 2005 series Masters of Horror (“Cigarette Burns” and “Pro-Life”), and exec produces the 2023 true crime series John Carpenter's Suburban Screams.

No news yet on a release date for John Carpenter Presents, but we'll keep you posted. Don't forget you can catch Carpenter's first ever musical residency in downtown L.A. later this month.
