Scream queen and king Kate Siegel (Hush, Midnight Mass) and David Dastmalchian (The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Late Night with the Devil) will star in the zombie action-horror Epilogue
Michael Fimognari (The Fall of the House of Usher) will direct the film written by Luke Barnett and Tanner Thomason, with Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, The Haunting of Hill House, the upcoming The Exorcist and Carrie series) serving as producer for Red Room Pictures.
Variety, who revealed the news exclusively earlier today, detail a plot synopsis as follows:
Set one year after the zombie apocalypse has supposedly come to an end, the film will follow a desperate couple who set out to find a cure for their infected daughter.
Genre outfit The Coven (Terrifier 3) will launch sales on Epilogue at the American Film Market next week.
Joining Flanagan in production are Todd Garner (Mortal Kombat) for Broken Road Productions, Courtney Petrakis and Brittney McDade.
As two of the most exciting actors working in horror (and friends of FANGORIA, too), we can't wait to see what Siegel and Dastmalchian cook up together. It's already been a great couple of years for the pair already, with Siegel's directorial debut featuring as part of V/H/S/BEYOND and Dastmalchian's turn in the Oscar-winning Oppenheimer.
Needless to say, Epilogue just shot straight to the top of our watchlist. No further details have been announced just yet, but we'll let you know as they roll in.
