Mattel is celebrating Día de Muertos with a special new Barbie! The doll company just announced a limited edition La Llorona Barbie Doll, echoing the popular ghost from Hispanic American folklore who’s inspired countless pieces of art, including a few horror films.

Available now on the Mattel Creations website, the La Llorona doll comes to life draped in white lace, with the doll dressed in a voluminous tiered white gown, featuring a corseted bodice, blue underskirt, and gorgeous lace bell sleeves. Accompanied by a lace veil and a black rose headdress, the doll is adorned in traditional Día de Muertos sugar skull makeup, and comes with articulated arms holding a melting candle.

The Javi Meabe-designed doll, which retails for $110 USD, comes with a doll stand and a certificate of authenticity, along with special packaging designed by Charis Ceniseroz that echoes the traditions of Día de Muertos. It’s one of numerous dolls released by Mattel to celebrate the holidays that fall around Halloween, a line that also includes their recently announced Monster High Skullector doll modeled after Alien’s Xenomorph queen

La Llorona has been represented (and misrepresented) across pop culture numerous times in history, arising from the folktale about a vengeful ghost who roams near bodies of water, mourning the children she drowned in a jealous rage. Those who hear her cry supposedly suffer misfortune or death, and she first appeared on film as early as 1933, in the Mexican film of the same name. She’s also been represented in films like The Curse of La Llorona and Kilometer 31, as well as television shows like Supernatural and Grimm
