With Macon Blair's reboot of The Toxic Avenger right around the corner, Alamo Drafthouse Lower Manhattan invited Troma founder and horror icon Lloyd Kaufman, as well as original Toxie, to browse the legendary Kim's Video collection – we've got an exclusive look at their picks in Episode 10 of the Kim's Video Collection web series.
Launched last year, the web series sees filmmakers, actors, journalists and other celebrity guests perusing and selecting their favorite films from the “Kim’s Video Underground” space at Alamo Drafthouse Lower Manhattan (where the Kim’s Video collection now lives) and sharing memories of visiting the original Kim’s Video in New York before the famed video and music store's close in 2009.
As expected from the master of shlock and shock, Uncle Lloyd's VHS and DVD picks are a weird and wonderful mix, including Redneck Zombies, Blood Hook, The Evil Dead and The Children. He also shares some wisdom and insight from his years in the industry, while Toxie nods on in approval.
