M3GAN 2.0 Has Officially Kicked Off Production

The sequel to Blumhouse's 2022 box office smash hit dances into theaters on June 27, 2025.

Ready to reunite with your best friend? Not too much longer to wait, as Blumhouse have today confirmed that principal photography on has begun on M3GAN 2.0, the sequel to Gerard Johnstone and Akela Cooper’s 2022 mega-hit M3GAN.

M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters on June 27, 2025. Stars Allison Williams and Violet McGraw are back for the sequel, as are Johnstone and Cooper as director and writer respectively, as well as James Wan’s Atomic Monster and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse back as producers. Williams will also produce.

In case you were under a rock all of 2022 and missed M3GAN and her iconic viral dance, the film followed toy-company roboticist Gemma (Williams) who develops a life-like artificially intelligent doll (who also happens to be a FANGORIA cover girl…) to help her recently orphaned 8-year-old niece Cady (McGraw) manage her grief with a brand new friend. Obviously, everything isn’t as sweet as it seems.

Also starring in M3GAN 2.0 is Ahsoka breakout star Ivanna Sakhno. Deadline also reports today that Timm Sharp, Aristotle Athari and Jemaine Clement have joined the cast.

Aside from M3GAN 2.0, the tiny terror's universe is already set to expand further, with the recently announced spin-off SOULM8TE from You Are Not My Mother director Kate Dolan:

In SOULM8TE, a man acquires an Artificially Intelligent android to cope with the loss of his recently deceased wife. In an attempt to create a truly sentient partner, he inadvertently turns a harmless lovebot into a deadly soulmate.

In a below tweet shared from Blumhouse, we get a good look at the M3GAN animatronic in all her glory, just dying to see you again on June 27, 2025. See you there!
