M3GAN 2.0 Dances To Chappell Roan In First Official Teaser

The Blumhouse sequel dances into theaters on June 27.

Last night's Grammy awards saw the return of everyone's favorite miniature maniac, as Blumhouse and Universal blessed us with the official first teaser for M3GAN 2.0, dancing into theaters on June 27.

Becoming a viral sensation back in 2023, Gerard Johnstone's M3GAN starred Allison Williams (Get Out), Violet McGraw (The Haunting of Hill House) and Amie Donald and Jenna Davis as M3GAN's body and voice respectively, all of whom will be returning for the sequel. Johnstone also returns as director, with Akela Cooper back on script duties. Horror titan James Wan returns to produce via Atomic Monster.

Joining Williams and McGraw is Ivanna Sakhno (Star Wars Ahsoka series), whose role has been revealed in a brand new plot synopsis…

Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous (and impeccably choreographed) rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Williams) has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady (McGraw), now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules.

Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia (Sakhno), the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans. Or in keeping them around. With the future of human existence on the line, Gemma realizes that the only option is to resurrect M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis) and give her a few upgrades, making her faster, stronger, and more lethal. As their paths collide, the original A.I bitch is about to meet her match.

The M3GAN universe is also set to expand with its first spinoff movie, SOULM8TE from director Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) and starring Evil Dead Rise‘s Lily Sullivan, billed for release on January 2, 2026.

The new teaser (seen below), set to Chappell Roan's Femininomenon, proves the tiny terror is once again set to slay with her signature moves, while a new poster teases we'll see that paper cutter back in action as a weapon.
