Academy Award-winning make-up effects artist Howard Berger (Army of Darkness, Jennifer's Body, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Drag Me to Hell) and acclaimed journalist Marshall Julius are celebrating monsters, monster movies and monster movie makers with a new book, Making Monsters: Inside Stories from the Creators of Hollywood's Most Iconic Creatures.
Releasing in mid September, Making Monsters explores the vast creature feature genre, featuring an array of interviews from make-up and digital effects legends (Tom Savini, Phil Tippett) to directors (John Carpenter, Ti West), actors (Simon Pegg, Barbara Crampton), composers (Michael Giacchino) and writers (Russell T Davies). The book also includes hundreds of amazing behind-the-scenes photos and several specially commissioned new art pieces.
Making Monsters also comes with a foreword by Freddy Krueger himself, Robert Englund, and a afterword by The Lost Boys and Freaked‘s Alex Winter. The covert art of horror icons, from Terrier's Art the Clown to Gremlins‘ Stripe comes from artist Jason Edmiston
