Steven Kostanski's Deathstalker reboot hits theaters today, October 10, courtesy of Shout! Studios, and we've got an exclusive clip to get you in the mood for a sword-and-sorcery epic from the PG: Psycho Goreman director.

Executive produced by guitar legend Slash (Guns N'Roses) and tarring Daniel Bernhardt (John Wick, The Matrix Reloaded) as the titular warrior and Patton Oswalt (Young Adult, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire) providing the voice of the benevolent wizard Doodad, Deathstaker is Kostanski's take on the Roger Corman-produced 1983 original cult classic, and follows:

The Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. When Deathstalker recovers a cursed amulet from a corpse-strewn battlefield, he's marked by dark magick and hunted by monstrous assassins. To survive, he must break the curse and face the rising evil. Death is just the beginning… of great adventure!

Kostanski's own Action Pants FX shop bring to life the effects that retain the practical charm of James Sbardellati's original film (and can be seen in our exclusive clip below), including a fanged harpy faced drone to a two-headed troll, a stone robot, man-eating snakes and a PigMan, plus creature suits, prosthetics and stop-motion animation.

Slash and composer Bear McCreary (Happy Death Day, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Predator: Badlands) also provide an original song for Deathstalker, with a score by Blitz/Berlin.

Check out our exclusive goopy clip from Deathstalker below, and make sure to catch it in theaters starting today, October 10.
