The House of Last Resort, the horror novel from New York Times bestselling author Christopher Golden has been optioned for a feature by Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
Reporting the news last night, Variety also confirm that Golden (Hellboy: The Crooked Man) will adapt his novel for the big screen.
The House of Last Resort follows a young American couple who relocate to a Sicilian hill town, where the mayor is selling abandoned homes to foreigners for a single Euro in an effort to revitalize the faltering community, in a move reflective of a recent real-life trend in Italy and other countries. Soon, they learn their new home has walled-up catacombs beneath it, whispers in its walls, and a dark history.
Alongside Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo will produce for The House of Last Resort for Outlier Society, alongside Golden and Pete Donaldson of Donaldson Media.
The House of Last Resort adaptation follows the recent news that Golden's 2022 novel Road of Bones is also set for a feature adaptation from Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill..
