Naomi Ackie (Mickey 17, Blink Twice) is in early talks to join the DCU's Clayface, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Penned by modern horror master Mike Flanagan and directed by Eden Lake‘s James Watkins, Clayface is scheduled for release on September 11, 2026 via Warner Bros., and already stars Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries (The Gentlemen) in the titular role.

DC's James Gunn has recently teased that the R-rated Clayface is a “complete horror film”, centering on an ascending actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster. As a last resort, the actor turns to a fringe Elizabeth Holmes-style scientist (presumably Ackie's role) for help. THR's latest report also says that Clayface is described as having shades and structure of David Cronenberg's The Fly.

Per THR, reading sessions for Clayface took place in England last week with Ackie emerging as the choice. Formal negotiations are due to begin this week, according to several sources.

Clayface is produced by The Batman' s Matt Reeves, as well as DC Studios bosses Gunn and Peter Safran, and Lynn Harris. Look out for more on the comic book body horror, and Ackie's potential involvement, as we get it.
