Nyaight of the Living Cat, the upcoming anime series from executive director Takashi Miike (yes, Audition, One Missed Call and Ichi the Killer‘s Takashi Miike), gets an adorably chaotic new trailer today from Crunchyroll, where the show starts streaming this July (exact date TBA!)
Based on the manga Night of the Living Cat written by Hawkman and illustrated by Mecha-Roots, Nyaight of the Living Cat is also directed by Tomohiro Kamitani (Beyond the Sky) and written by Shingo Irie (Afterlost: Where I End and You Begin), with character designs by Takao Maki (Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls).
Run! The adorable cats are here. In 20XX, the world is dominated by cats. A virus which turns anyone who touches a cat into a cat has spread into a worldwide nyandemic. Cats rub against people, turning them into cats. Can humanity fight their urge to pet cats to survive in this cat-ridden world?
The Japanese voice cast for Nyaight of the Living Cat includes Masaaki Mizunaka (Classroom of the Elite), Reina Ueda (Solo Leveling), Reiji Kawashima (To Your Eternity), Yu Serizawa (Rent-A-Girlfriend), Subaru Kimura (JUJUTSU KAISEN), Yoshiki Nakajima (Dr. STONE), Hiroki Yasumoto (Fairy Tail) and Ryota Takeuchi (The Ancient Magus' Bride).
