Our Cannes wrap-up coverage continues with plenty of behind the scenes genre buzz from The Séance, You Know Films' first-of-its-kind digital show about the market’s genre film buzz with partnership from FANGORIA and Paramount Scares.
The Séance host and filmmaker Gigi Saul Guerrero was joined by Peter Kuplowsky, programmer for the Toronto International Film Festival‘s Midnight Madness section and producer of the POV slasher In a Violent Nature.
The 50th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival takes place from September 4 – 14 of this year. Considering last year's Midnight Madness strand included The Substance, The Shadow Strays, Dead Talents Society and a bunch of other genre bangers, it's safe to say that this year's lineup will be equally exciting.
Chatting with Gigi, Kuplowsky talks more about his history with programming, advice to aspiring filmmakers, and his role in making Gigi's dad go viral with his reaction to that yoga death in In a Violent Nature.
He also goes on to give a tease of what we can expect from In a Violent Nature 2, hinting at “double the kills” from the slasher sequel.
