Listen, I’ll never understand why people like hiking. Mosquitoes, bears, and other concerning wildlife aside, the idea of being away from civilization sounds terrifying — and clearly, the makers of the new survival horror Pitfall agree with me. FANGORIA is excited to debut the film’s trailer ahead of its digital release this month, and you’ll definitely thinking twice about your next camping trip after watching it.

Directed by James Kondelik from a script he co-wrote with Victor Rose, Pitfall stars Marshall Williams, Alexandra Essoe, Richard Harmon, Jordan Claire Robbins, Matt Hamilton, and UFC wrestler Randy Couture. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Hunted, isolated, and forced to survive by a killer’s rules, a group of hikers must escape the maze before the final move is made. A remote wilderness trip turns deadly when Scott falls into a concealed pit trap and is left badly injured. As the group searches for help, they discover the forest has been rigged with calculated traps by an unseen hunter who is watching, testing, and manipulating their every move. To survive, they must outsmart the predator before his twisted design claims them all.
Pitfall is produced by Wai Sun Cheng and Alex Bogolomov for Pandapix Pictures, in association with Dragon Bear Pictures. The film originally debuted at last year’s Screamfest Film Festival before premiering in theaters this spring, and hails from Cineverse, the company behind major horror titles like Terrifier 3, Return to Silent Hill, and the remakes of The Toxic Avenger and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
Pitfall hits digital and VOD on June 30.
