Popcorn Frights Film Festival will go out with a high-gloss scream, as the Miami-based fest is closing with the U.S. Premiere of Shell, the slick new genre-bender from Max Minghella (Teen Spirit), starring Kate Hudson and Elisabeth Moss.

In Shell, which had its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival:

Down on her luck actress Samantha Lake (Moss) is invited into the ultra-glamorous world of Zoe Shannon (Hudson), CEO of health & wellness company Shell. But when Shell patients start to go missing, Samantha realizes Shell may be protecting a monstrous secret.

Shell rounds off Popcorn Frights' absolutely stacked first and second wave lineups, which include Tina Romero's Queens of the Dead, Latvian animated mind-bender Dog of God, Sydney Sweeney-led thriller Americana and puppy POV horror Good Boy.

There's also a whole host of repertory titles including a 4K restoration of George A. Romero's Day of the Dead and an immersive screening of John Carpenter's The Fog, featuring full-blown Fog-O-Vision, featuring a veil of real fog rolling in as audiences experience a restored 4K print of the 1980 film. Oh, and there's still a Third Wave of programming announcements yet to come.

Popcorn Frights Film Festival takes place from August 7-17 in Miami, and you can check out the full first and second wave lineups and purchase passes and individual tickets on their website.
