While news of the upcoming Resident Evil 9 is still firmly under wraps, Capcom has softened the blow of the wait by making the Resident Evil 3 Remake available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac as of today.
Released in 2020 as a remake of the 1999 survival horror classic Resident Evil: Nemesis, Resident Evil 3 Remake was the second in Capcom's RE Engine remake series, following 2019's Resident Evil 2 Remake and preceding the Resident Evil 4 Remake in 2023. Players follow former S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine and mercenary Carlos Oliveira as they try and survive an outbreak of the T-virus, all while being pursued by a giant mutant maniac named Nemesis.
Although not as successful as Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 went on to sell almost 10 million units worldwide and was pretty universally well received.
The iPhone and iPad versions of Resident Evil 3 come with customizable touch controls and an Auto Fire feature for those who get a little trigger shy. Fans can also download a free demo to test before committing to the full game.
Resident Evil 3 Remake is now available via the App Store for iPhone 16, iPhone 15 Pro models and for Mac and iPads with an M1 chip or later. For more spec info head over to the official Capcom site.
