Hot on the heels of last night's new gameplay trailer, Capcom has unveiled another look at Resident Evil Requiem with IGN bringing a terrifying hands-on preview straight from this year's GamesCom.

Launching on February 27, 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline game in the iconic franchise, is set 30 years after a missile strike destroys Raccoon City, and follows investigate reporter Ashcroft, daughter of Resident Evil Outbreak‘s Alyssa Ashcroft.

In today's new gameplay preview (seen below), Resident Evil Requiem‘s new stalker enemy is introduced, who is going to follow poor Grace around with unrelenting malevolence much like Mr. X from Resident Evil 2 or Lady Dimitrescu from Resident Evil: Village. The new look also confirms that players are able to change, at any point in the game, between first and third-person perspective.

From what we've heard (and seen) of the game so far, Resident Evil Requiem looks set to be one of the scariest games in the series, in line with what director Koji Nakanishi has previously detailed (and also why we're apparently not getting any Leon S. Kennedy in the game).
