Everybody’s favorite hidden gem horror series is returning this year! That’s right, we finally have a trailer for Season 3 of the underground hit series School Spirits, featuring two former Disney stars as undead kids trapped in their own high school. And this time, the stakes are upped with the appearance of a horror icon.
Returning for Season 3 of School Spirits are leading stars Peyton List and Milo Manheim, as well as Kristian Ventura, Spencer MacPherson, and Kiara Pichardo, among others. Even better, joining the cast as a newcomer is scream queen and Chucky alum Jennifer Tilly, playing the mysteriously named Dr. Hunter-Price, who’s almost certainly out for blood. (Wait, can it be blood when the main characters are already dead? Who knows.)
The season’s synopsis is as follows:
Season three of School Spirits plunges Maddie Nears and her friends into a deeper, darker mystery as the veil between worlds grows dangerously thin, delivering twists that challenge everything they thought they knew. After clawing her way back to life, Maddie struggles with terrifying visions and the weight of protecting both the living and the dead while Simon – trapped in the afterlife – becomes obsessed with the secrets buried in Split River High’s scars. Why have so many people died at Split River High? What was Mr. Martin warning them about? As they search for answers, new dangers and dark secrets begin to surface.
Created by co-showrunners Nate and Megan Trinrud, School Spirits originally premiered on Paramount+ in 2023, with fans forced to wait an agonizing two years to find out more about List’s undead teenager Maddie and how she died in Season 2. Luckily, that isn’t the case here, and the Season 3 trailer actually arrives at an opportune time, with co-star Manheim having just been announced as one of the leads for Disney’s live-action reimagining of Tangled. Talk about range.
Season 3 of School Spirits premieres on Paramount+ on January 28.
