Christmas may be over, but that doesn’t mean Santa can’t still leave us presents. In fact, we’re getting a festive treat next week: Mike P. Nelson’s remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night is set to hit digital platforms on January 26, with a Blu-ray and DVD release to come later in the spring for anyone who needs early gift ideas.

Billed as a “reimagining” of the cult 1984 film, the film stars Halloween Ends’ Rohan Campbell as the film’s cheery killer, alongside Ruby Modine, Mark Acheson, David Lawrence Brown, and David Tomlinson. The film’s synopsis is as follows:

When Billy witnesses his parents’ grisly murder on Christmas Eve at the hands of Santa, it ignites a lifelong mission to spread holiday fear. Every Christmas, he dons the jolly red suit and delivers a blood-soaked massacre to feed his twisted sense of justice. This Christmas Eve, Billy wants to know: “Have you been naughty?”

Written and directed by Mike P. Nelson, Silent Night, Deadly Night is executive produced by Steven Schneider, Anthony Masi, Sarah Eilts, Brandon Hill, Brad Miska, Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Matthew Helderman, and Luke Taylor, with producers Scott Schneid, Dennis Whitehead, Jamie R. Thompson, Erik Bernard, and Jeremy Torrie. The film is produced by Cineverse, the same company behind the Terrifier films, and this one’s just as bloody as Art the Clown’s evil rampages — if not more.

The original Silent Night, Deadly Night was released in 1984, starring Robert Brian Wilson, Lilyan Chauvin, Gilmer McCormick, Toni Nero, and scream queen Linnea Quigley. Despite being pulled from theaters after only a week, the film was a success, grossing $2.5 million on a budget of only a quarter million. Since its release, the Christmas slasher has received four sequels and another remake unconnected to this one, starring Malcolm McDowell.

The Silent Night, Deadly Night remake hits digital on January 26, and will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on March 2.
