The gloriously retro game sees Spirit's iconic Jack the Reaper cause havoc in the town of Possum Hollow.

Spirit Halloween is gearing up for spooky season hype with an all-new lineup of décor, costumes and collectibles, plus a brand new limited edition version of gloriously retro video game HAUNTED: Halloween '86.

The Spirit Edition of the side-scroller is playable on NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) and select Retron consoles, and is available as both a physical collector’s edition (custom box, cartridge, and manual included) and a digital download, perfect for those spooky season game and movie nights.

October 31st  2025: On a quiet evening in Possum Hollow, two kids are looking for the perfect Donny and Tami costumes. On a quest to dress up as their heroes, Steven and Kym venture into a Spirit Halloween, but just as they put on the costumes, they’re surprised by Jack the Reaper who plummets them through a vortex back to 1986 to relive the infamous nightmare that Donny and Tami endured. Jack the Reaper has taken over Possum Hollow with a few old friends and they are having so much fun, it’s scary. To find their way home our heroes must battle all sorts of evil and there is nowhere to hide…

In this special edition sequel to HAUNTED: Halloween '85, Spirit's iconic Jack the Reaper crops up a few times throughout the game, causing mischief as he is wont to do. The initial run of HAUNTED: Halloween '86 quickly sold out, but is now back in stock, so you better bust your butt to grab one.
