Stranger Things may be over, but its legacy isn’t dead yet. Dead by Daylight has announced that their latest addition to the popular horror game, Stranger Things Chapter 2, has arrived via Steam’s Public Test Build, adding popular characters like Eleven, Dustin, the evil Vecna, and more to the game before they officially launch at the end of the month.
Players will be able to hunt Survivors down by choosing to play as Vecna — also known as The First in-game — who can weaponize the Upside Down and bend the world around him to curse anyone in his way. Survivors’ only chance at survival is the haunting sound of grandfather clocks that follow him, marking a secret to uncover before it’s too late.

Speaking of Survivors, Eleven and Dustin will both be available as playable characters, with unique sets of skills and resources equipped to fight Vecna. A new Legendary outfit for Jonathan Byers, who appeared in the original Stranger Things chapter, will be available, as well as Legendary backups in the form of Eddie Munson and Robin Buckley, tied to Dustin and Nancy respectively.
“When Stranger Things first joined Dead by Daylight, it felt like a milestone,” said Dave Richard, Dead by Daylight’s Creative Director. “Seeing the franchise return – and evolve – is something special for us. This new Chapter doesn’t just celebrate the show, it deepens the connection between two worlds that share a love for nostalgia, mystery, and horror. The show may have wrapped, but we’re excited to give these characters the chance to continue their adventure in our game.”

This new chapter of Dead by Daylight serves as a follow-up to their original Stranger Things chapter, which was released in 2019. That chapter featured Nancy Wheeler and Steve Harrington as playable characters, with the demogorgon hunting them down through the Hawkins National Laboratory, and the new chapter serves to tie up loose ends as the series ends after a decade on Netflix.
Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Chapter 2 is currently available as part of the Steam public test build, and will be available widely beginning on January 27.
