Actress Arianna Rivas (Levon's Trade) has joined that cast of upcoming Blumhouse sequel The Black Phone 2 from director Scott Derrickson and writer C. Robert Cargill.

Rivas joins returning stars Ethan Hawke, Mason Thames, Madeleine McGraw, Jeremy Davies and Miguel Mora, as well as new edition Demián Bichir.

Hitting theaters on October 17, 2025, The Black Phone 2 sees Joe Hill, author of the original short story The Black Phone is based on, executive produce, with Jason Blum of Blumhouse, Universal and Crooked Highway Production also producing.

Pulling in over $160 million on a budget of under $20 million, The Black Phone was a box office hit upon release in 2022. The film followed a 13-year old boy abducted by a child killer known as The Grabber in a suburban neighborhood and locked in a soundproof basement, who then begins to receive calls on a disconnected phone from the killer’s previous victims.

Plot details for the sequel are as of now unknown, and how exactly Hawke will be returning as the pretty-damn-dead Grabber is yet to be seen. In a previous interview, Derrickson detailed how it was Hill himself who pitched him “a wonderful idea” for the sequel, so whatever happens it's guaranteed to be good.

Deadline note that Rivas recently  wrapped filming her first lead role in the Amazon/MGM movie Levon’s Trade, opposite Jason Statham.
