Following its digital release back in September, Rupert Sanders' The Crow hits 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD today via Lionsgate, and to celebrate we've got an exclusive featurette previewing some of the bonus features on the release.
Starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, The Crow is a reimagining of the 1989 Gothic superhero comic by James O'Barr and the overall fifth film in The Crow franchise.
In The Crow:
“Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA Twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right.”
After a difficult production process (talks to reimagine The Crow first started in 2008, and everyone from Nick Cave to Jason Momoa was attached at one point or another), The Crow finally soared into theaters earlier this year, treating fans to a take on the story very different from Alex Proyas' 1994 cult classic starring Brandon Lee.
In our previous interview with Sanders, the director spoke about how he was keen to bring an emotional core to the darkness of the film, which is reflected in the operatic soundtrack. Our exclusive clip today gives a behind the scenes look at The Crow‘s epic score, arranged by Academy Award-winning composer Volker Bertelmann (Conclave, the upcoming Dune: Prophecy series.)
Music plays a hugely important part in The Crow, with Twigs' (best known as a Grammy nominated singer herself) Shelly being a musician prior to her untimely death.
The Crow is now available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango at Home, and more, with the 4K/Blu-ray release now available from all good retailers. Watch our clip below while you place your order.
