Merry Christmas, indeed! Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage is coming to Shudder on Friday, December 13th. With The Last Drive-In season 6 recently coming to an end, we are counting on these double-feature specials to get us through the wait for season 7. October brought us a Last Drive-In Friday the 13th double-feature, and December brings us a good old-fashioned Last Drive-In Christmas special.

For the past several years, Joe Bob and Darcy have used their Christmas special to raise funds for various charities. They typically auction off an array of screen-used props, personal collectible memorabilia, specialized merch, and unique experiences.

One year, they auctioned off a chance to “get married by Joe Bob Briggs,” and the winning couple tied the knot on air the following year in The Last Drive-In Valentine's Day special, Joe Bob's Vicious Vegas Valentineat a Vegas chapel. Another auction included a chance to sit down with Joe Bob and Darcy for an all-expense paid meal at one of Joe Bob's favorite establishments — Cracker Barrel.

The Joe Bob Ruins Christmas special raised over $150,000 for charities, and in 2023 the official auction page for Joe Bob's Creepy Christmas reported viewers of The Last Drive-In raised $200,000 dollars for four charitable causes. Now that's putting the platform to good use.

So what do Joe Bob and Darcy have in store for us this year? Well, as always, that's a surprise. So we'll have to be patient while they make their list and check it twice, but here's a little teaser from the official synopsis:

Snow is falling and the bodies are piling up for Joe Bob's Christmas Carnage, when Joe Bob and Darcy host two holiday horror flicks featuring so much bloodshed that Santa will think twice before coming down this chimney.

With The Last Drive-In season 6 breaking away from the show's established double-feature format, the specials give fans a chance to splurge like the old days. “There are a lot of people who miss the doubles and they would rather us do the double features,” Briggs told us in a recent interview in honor of The Last Drive-In returning for season 7 on Shudder. “I would say there are more that are either okay with the singles or prefer the singles, and so we’ll probably stay with singles.”

In the meantime, prep your Christmas cookies and eggnog for a late night when Joe Bob’s Christmas Carnage airs live on Shudder and AMC+TV Friday, December 13. The special will be available on demand Sunday, December 15.
