James Ashcroft's twisted psychological horror The Rule of Jenny Pen hits theaters on March 7 with a creepy new teaser poster dropping today courtesy of IFC Films and Shudder.
Starring John Lithgow and Geoffrey Rush (casting of which alone should be enough to get you to check this one out), The Rule of Jenny Pen took home Best Director and Best Actor at last year's Fantastic Fest, as well as Best Actor at Sitges 2024.
In The Rule of Jenny Pen:
Arrogant Judge Stefan Mortensen (Rush) suffers a near-fatal stroke, leaving him partially paralyzed and confined to a retirement home. Resistant to the staff and distant from his friendly roommate, Mortensen soon clashes with seemingly gentle resident Dave Crealy (Lithgow) who secretly terrorizes the home with a sadistic game called “The Rule of Jenny Pen” while wielding his dementia doll as an instrument of cruelty.
What begins as childish torment quickly escalates into far more sinister and disturbing incidents. When Mortensen's pleas to the staff go unanswered, he takes it upon himself to put an end to Crealy's reign of terror.
Horror maestro Stephen King previously Tweeted his phrase for the film, saying:”I watched one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. It’s called THE RULE OF JENNY PEN, and I urge you to watch it…”
Make sure you catch The Rule of Jenny Pen in theaters on March 7, and keep an eye out for the first official poster coming soon. For more 2025 horror news, read our rundown of next year's most anticipated releases.
