Sitges Director Ángel Sala Talks Spanish Genre History And The Comedy Of Horror | THE SÉANCE

You Know Films, FANGORIA and Paramount Scares continue to bring the thrills of Cannes' Fantastic Pavilion to horror fans worldwide.

Cannes might have wrapped up, but we still have plenty of behind the scenes genre buzz from The Séance, You Know Films' first-of-its-kind digital show about the market’s genre film buzz with partnership from FANGORIA and Paramount Scares.

In the latest edition of The Séance, You Know Films' founder and Fantastic Pavilion Producer Alex Noyer sits down with Ángel Sala, Director of the Sitges International Fantasy Film Festival of Catalonia.

One of the three biggest and most prestigious genre film festivals in the world, Sitges' 58th edition takes place from October 10 to October 19. This year, the fest pays tribute to genre legends Joe Dante and Sean S. Cunningham, as well as celebrating the 40th anniversary of Stuart Gordon's Re-Animator with cast and crew present.

Speaking with Noyer, whose film Sound of Violence played at Sitges in 2021, Sala discusses his role within the fest, the history and importance of the Spanish genre scene and what fans can look forward to at this year's festival. Watch our exclusive chat with Sala below and to keep up to date with all wrap-up updates coming from The Séance, make sure you're keeping an eye on and following FANGORIA's socials – Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
