Following a successful festival run last year, The Serpent's Skin, the sixth feature from filmmaking sensation Alice Maio Mackay (T Blockers, Carnage for Christmas, Bad Girl Boogey), gets a new trailer from Dark Star Pictures ahead of hitting select theaters from today, March 27, and hitting On Demand on April 21. Check it out below:

Described as a supernatural romance inspired by witchy '90s horrors like The Craft, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed, The Serpent's Skin's sees Mackay once again bring her signature blend of visceral horror, vibrant aesthetics and a deeply personal, punk spirit, all through a trans and queer lens.
Starring Alexandra McVicker (Vice Principals), Scott Major (Heartbreak High), Charlotte Chimes (Neighbours) and Jordan Dulieu (Before Dawn), The Serpent's Skin was co-written by Mackay and longtime collaborator Benjamin Pahl Robinson, and follows Anna after she escapes from her small, transphobic town, and the romantic relationship she develops with another young woman, a goth tattoo artist named Gen. After unwittingly unleashing a demon that begins feeding on their friends, the pair need to face their insecurities in order to defeat evil.
Also appearing in The Serpent's Skin are Avalon Fast (Honeycomb), Joe Lynch (Suitable Flesh) and Betsey Brown (Assholes). The People's Joker‘s Vera Drew returns as editor following previously collaborating with Mackay on Carnage for Christmas. Castration Movie‘s Louise Weard executive produced.
Those in New York can catch The Serpent's Skin in select theaters from today, and those in Los Angeles from April 3, with more dates to be announced. Everyone else, catch The Serpent's Skin On Demand from April 21. Check out a new poster for the sapphic horror below, and
