THE THIRD PARENT: Tommy Taffy Creepypasta Getting Feature Adaptation

Gary Michael Walters (DRIVE, NIGHTCRAWLER) will produce the feature debut from writer/director David Michaels.

Elias Witherow's acclaimed Internet creepypasta The Third Parent is being adapted into a horror movie by writer/director David Michaels in his feature debut, Deadline reports today.

The Third Parent will be produced by producer Gary Michael Walters (Whiplash, Drive, Nightcrawler) recently launched Walters Media Group.

A brief plot synopsis, per Deadline:

The feature take is set amidst the 4th of July celebration, as a disturbing figure named Tommy Taffy emerges. Disguised as a human, he infiltrates a suburban neighborhood and imposes authoritarian rule over an unsuspecting family. 

Here's what Michaels has to say to Deadline about the upcoming project.

“I am honored that Elias and Gary have entrusted me with this incredible story and character. I have been captivated by Tommy Taffy and The Third Parent series for many years, since Spence introduced these incredible stories to me. It’s a dream come true.”

Walters adds:

To anyone who's read the series of The Third Parent creepypastas, which originated on the r/nosleep sub Reddit, the name Tommy Taffy will surely strike fear in your heart. Proceed with caution if you wanna check out the story before watching the film.
