Just a few weeks shy of Osgood Perkins’ next film hitting theaters, it looks like he’s already planning on reuniting with its star for another project. Deadline reports that Tatiana Maslany has joined the cast of The Young People, the Longlegs director’s next film starring Lola Tung, which hits theaters sometime next year.
Maslany leads a casting announcement that also includes Suitable Flesh’s Heather Graham, Lexi Minetree, Lily Collias, Brendan Hines, Cush Jumbo, and Jackass star (and genre veteran) Johnny Knoxville. The cast is, thus far, all we know about the film, aside from a singular picture of Tung, who stars alongside The Last of Us’s Nico Parker, next to a bathtub filled with blood — unsurprising, given the secrecy surrounding all of Perkins’ other films up to this point.
Perkins is once again set to direct The Young People from his own script, with Neon producing and distributing the film, as a part of a partnership that’s produced Longlegs, The Monkey, and the upcoming Keeper. Perkins also produces the film alongside Chris Ferguson for his banner Phobos, as well as Brian Kavanaugh-Jones.
Maslany is currently set to star in Keeper when it hits theaters on November 14, where she features alongside Rossif Sutherland (son of Invasion of the Body Snatchers star Donald Sutherland) as a couple who head to a secluded cabin to celebrate their anniversary, only for an evil entity to reveal dark secrets about the both of them. Written by Nick Lepard and shot during the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes while production on The Monkey was suspended, Keeper also stars Claire Friesen, Christin Park, and Tess Degenstein.
The Young People will premiere sometime in 2026. Stay tuned to FANGORIA for more updates as they arrive.
