Following a buzzy Sundance premiere and subsequent acquisition by NEON, Michael Shanks' body horror feature Together gets an official trailer today ahead of hitting theaters on August 1.
Starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie, Together is Shanks' feature debut, which he also wrote. Plot details read as follows:
Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country. Abandoning, all that is familiar in their lives except each other. With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.
Franco and Brie produced Together together (heh), alongside Picturestart, Tango, 1.21 and Princess Pictures.
Today's new trailer doesn't reveal too much (which has become a hallmark of NEON's hot marketing skills, clearly) but does give us a sense of what we're in for with Together. And, uhh, if that ominous child's drawing is anything to go by, Together looks like it's about to take co-dependency to a whole new level.
Watch the new trailer below and look out for more on Together as we get it. You can also watch Fango's Jason Kauzlarich chat with Brie and Franco on the SXSW carpet right here.
