Roar Uthaug's Troll 2 (again, NOT THAT ONE) stomps onto Netflix on December 1 of this year, with the streamer releasing a new teaser that promises another round of Norwegian kaiju chaos.

A sequel to 2022's Troll, which became Netflix's most watched non-English language film and racking up over 170 million hours of views, Troll 2 sees director Uthaug and writer Espen Aukan return, as well as Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falck) and Captain Kris (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen), alongside newcomer Marion (Sara Khorami).

In Troll 2:

When a powerful new troll is awakened, chaos spreads across Norway, thrusting Nora (Ine Marie Wilmann), Andreas (Kim Falck), and Captain Kris (Mads Sjøgård Pettersen) into their most dangerous mission yet. To stop the creature’s rampage, they must make new allies, new weapons, and dive into ancient Norwegian history for answers. Can they overcome the impossible odds to save their country from the brink of darkness?”

Per Variety, who debuted the trailer for Troll 2 earlier today, Uthaug had this to say of the sequel:

“I am beyond proud of how audiences around the globe connected with the first ‘Troll’ film far beyond what we imagined […] With the sequel, we are aiming high — expanding the scope, deepening the story, and creating a troll-sized spectacle like you’ve never seen before. I cannot wait for fans to experience the adventure we have in store.

“Well, first of all we are introducing new and even more destructive trolls — and yes, that is plural […] And we get to revisit our beloved cast from the first movie, though you might not find them where you would expect them to be, as well as some enchanting new faces that join in on the action. But I’m really excited about the way we delve deeper into our Nordic folklore and Norse history to expand on the myths of the trolls and their history.”

Troll 2 premieres on Netflix on December 1. Watch the new trailer below, and if you're a kaiju fan don't miss out on the details of LEGO's official upcoming Godzilla set.
