TWISTED METAL Season 2 Trailer Delivers More Mayhem And Masks

Anthony Mackie returns as John Doe in the post-apocalyptic series hitting Peacock this summer.

Post-apocalyptic action series Twisted Metal heads back to Peacock this summer for its second season, with a new trailer today promising a metric ton of mayhem.

Writer, showrunner and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith’s series sees stars Anthony Mackie (Captain America: Brave New World) and Stephanie Beatriz return as John Doe and Quiet respectively, as well as Will Arnett and Joe Seanoa aka Samoa Joe coming back as the murderous Sweet Tooth the Clown.

Mackie, Smith and Arnott also executive produce alongside Paul Wernick, Marc Forman, Jason Spire, Grant Dekernion, Peter Principato, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan.

In Twisted Metal Season 2:

Following the revelations in the Season 1 finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly Twisted Metal tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso (Anthony Carrigan). As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

Per Deadline, Smith tells us a little more what to expect:

“The stakes couldn’t be higher as John and Quiet risk their lives to compete in the dangerous demolition derby tournament. The prize? A single wish, their greatest hearts desire, granted. The only problem is sixteen other drivers have wishes of their own. In a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters, it’s too bad not all of them will survive.”

Directing the second season are Phil Sgriccia (Supernatural), Bill Benz (Portlandia), Iain MacDonald  and Bertie Ellwood (Our Flag Means Death).
