The VelociPastor is back, and he’s hungry for more. After becoming a massive cult hit six years ago, the absurdist horror franchise is back with another installment, The VelociPastor 2, and FANGORIA is excited to help release the trailer for the film, which just premiered at last weekend’s New York Comic Con.
Directed by Jesse Gouldsbury, who co-wrote the film with Brendan Steere, The VelociPastor 2 stars Gregory James Cohan, Alyssa Kempinski, Frankie Kevich, John DiMino, Sajda White, John Collin Barclay, Lily Talevski, Shahaub Roudbari, Dr. Dan Steere, Michael Wilson Morgan, and Jake Cannavale.. The film’s (absolutely wild) logline is as follows:
Doug and Carol travel to the port city of Milan, where they have to solve a series of murders committed by a Sex Maniac Killer at an Italian Fertility Festival. And Soviet Spies. INTERPOL’s there, too.
In addition to the trailer, the team behind the sequel have also announced that they’ll be taking the film on a multi-city tour, featuring a double feature of both films, along with exclusive giveaways, cast meet and greets, and a Jurassic Jam Fest. They’ve also released a special new merch drop, including a rerelease of the first film on Blu-ray and DVD, featuring a reversible cover designed by Farkira of Deadly Prey gallery, and t-shirts designed by Alex Krokus, all of which is available on the film’s website.
The VelociPastor was originally released in 2019 on a budget of $35,000, following a pastor infected by an artifact that causes him to transform into a dinosaur when enraged. The horror comedy quickly became a viral sensation, garnering attention both in the press and online, and The VelociPastor 2 was shot in 2023 after a successful crowdfunding campaign, as one of only five productions approved to film during the SAG & WGA strikes.
