On Set Cinema is takingThe Burning fans to Camp Blackfoot this summer! Fans of the 1981 slasher will have the opportunity to watch The Burning where it was filmed in Ransomville, New York, at the Stonehaven Nature Preserve (aka Camp Blackfoot).
This special event will take place on Saturday, August 3rd, in the NY Niagara region at the former camp where the majority of the movie was filmed! Partake in a walking tour of The Burning filming locations, s'mores by the campfire, and, of course, a screening of the movie near the lake.
Featuring FX by the master Tom Savini and a cast of familiar faces, The Burning was a notable MPAA casualty before enjoying an early 2000s DVD restoration. Michael Gingold breaks down the big talent showcased in The Burning cast in his original Blu-Ray review : “What’s equally notable about the film, as much now as ever, is that it served as an early showcase for an unusually large number of behind- and before-the-camera talent that went on to bigger things. Jason Alexander, Fisher Stevens and Holly Hunter are among the cast, along with Brian Backer (who would go on to win a Tony Award and awkwardly romance Jennifer Jason Leigh in Fast Times at Ridgemont High) and Shelley Bruce (soon to be Broadway’s Annie, which occasioned her being top-billed in the publicity material when The Burning opened in New York).”

Fans will get to hang out and enjoy an entire evening at Camp Blackfoot! There will be a filming locations walking tour to check out where a bunch of the filming took place, including where Michelle and the rest of the group discover the raft on the lake covered with dead bodies from Cropsy's garden shear massacre!
There will also be a campfire with marshmallows and s’mores and a screening of the movie on location in a building near the lake! This is going to be an unforgettable experience for fans of “The Burning”! …just remember he's out there …watching, waiting. Don't look …he'll see you. Don't move …he'll hear you.
