Wake Up, Here’s Our First Look At WEAPONS

Zach Creggers' "multi-story horror epic" hits theaters on August 8.

Following the “batshit insane” first-look footage at CinemaCon earlier this month, New Line Cinema has finally unleashed a mysterious first image of Zach Cregger's Weapons, set to hit theaters on Ausgust 8.

Starring Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Benedict Wong, Austin Abrams (also set to lead Cregger's upcoming Resident Evil reboot), Amy Madigan, and June Diane Raphael, Warner Bros.Weapons has previously been described as a “multi-story horror epic” following the fallout of a group of kids who mysteriously disappear overnight.

Today's new image, posted to the official New Line Cinema Instagram account, doesn't reveal, well, anything really, except a pitch-black room and the glow of an alarm clock that reads 2:17. New Line's caption ominously reads “And they never came back…”

If you'll recall, 2:17am is the time that “every kid woke up, got out of bed, walked downstairs and into the dark and they never came back”, per the CinemaCon teaser:

As the small town where Cregger’s horror show is set reels from the news, Garner’s teacher becomes the focal point of parental and administrative anger. It’s not long before these missing kids start appearing to her as apparitions — rocking hollow eye sockets and disturbing smiles. Brolin plays a particularly heartsick parent coming for Garner and demanding answers about his missing daughter.

Originally slated for release in January 2026, the R-ratedWeapons was bumped up to a summer release, demonstrating a keen amount of confidence from Warner Bros (Barbarian grossed $45.4 million worldwide against a production budget of $4.5 million).

We'll bring you more on Weapons as updates roll in.
