Now that IT: Welcome to Derry has wrapped up — and proceeded to break some hearts in the process — it looks like even more merch is coming our way. Thrilljoy is partnering with Warner Bros. to release a new collectible based on beloved character Rich Santos as a part of their PIX! line, and FANGORIA has a special sneak peek at the figure for you.
Joining a line that includes figures from Beetlejuice, Killer Klowns From Outer Space, and Terrifier, Thrilljoy’s new Rich Santos figure features the character with slicked back hair and his memorable red, white, and black band uniform, bearing a sandwich and carton of milk in hand.
Serving as an expansion of the world established in Stephen King’s IT — primarily the two part film adaptation directed by Andy Muschietti — Welcome to Derry stars Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Blake Cameron James, and Rudy Mancuso, as well as Bill Skarsgård returning as the sinister, otherworldly monster Pennywise. It was revealed in the show’s Season 1 finale that the series, set in 1962, is not actually a prequel to the IT films, but rather a kind of sequel, with several of the kids involved in the series turning out to be the parents of the beloved Losers’ Club members.
While Rich (Arian S. Cartaya) died in the Black Spot fire before the finale, his spirit was able to assist his friends in completing the cage that tarps Pennywise in Derry, keeping him from terrorizing the rest of the world, making the young martyr the perfect character to immortalize as an action figure.
The new Thrilljoy figure of Rich joins an extensive line of merch dedicated to Welcome to Derry. While it’s probably too late to nab your King-loving friends anything for Christmas, items also available from various retailers include apparel, jewelry, costumes, and even a candle that smells like the Derry sewers. (No, we’re not kidding. But if you need a white elephant gift…)
