Even though we don’t necessarily associate monsters with Valentine’s Day (unless you’re Lisa Swallows), the folks behind Werewolves are bringing audiences a perfectly gory treat for the upcoming holiday: the Frank Grillo-led monster film is set to hit Blu-ray and DVD on February 4, with special features available for those brave enough to bring it home.

The film, which follows a group of people fighting against a latent lycanthropy gene that only appears during a supermoon, will feature special deleted scenes and trailers on its Blu-ray release, which is available for pre-order right now. Directed by Steven C. Miller with a script from Matthew Kennedy, Werewolves also stars Katrina Law, Ilfenesh Hadera, James Michael Cummings, and Lou Diamond Phillips, and features practical monsters designed by Alec Gillis and Tom Woodruff Jr.

“When I read the script, I knew there were going to be a lot of werewolves on screen,” Miller told FANGORIA. “I was trying to put as many as possible. We had to go get the right guys, and obviously Alec Gillis is a legend. So the plan was, let's put all our money to those guys and make sure the werewolves look awesome, that way everyone really understands it's a werewolf movie.”

If you want more bloody canine goodness, you can also pre-order FANGORIA issue #26, which features exclusive content from not only Werewolves (and an interview with special effects master Gillis), but also a deeper look at Nosferatu, Wolf Man, Presence, and more.

Werewolves hits Blu-ray on February 4, and is available on digital now.
