Robert Eggers' Werwulf really is shaping up to be a Nosferatu reunion, with Willem Dafoe reportedly in talks to join previously-announced star Aaron Taylor-Johnson and possibly Lily-Rose Depp in the 13th-century set werewolf horror.

Plot details for Werwulf remain tightly under wraps, but we do know that Eggers is directing from a script he co-wrote with Icelandic poet and screenwriter Sjón, and that the film is set to premiere in the United States on December 25, 2026.

Should Dafoe join the pic, it'll mark his fourth collaboration with Eggers following The Lighthouse, The Northman and the aforementioned Nosferatu. He's also reportedly still in talks for the role of Scrooge in Eggers' take on A Christmas Carol.

While we're sure nobody is at all surprised by the idea that Dafoe could be joining Werwulf (Eggers has even stated his desire to never make a movie without the Oscar-nominated star again) , it's nevertheless exciting news, especially if Dafoe gets to go sicko mode à la The Lighthouse again.

Stay tuned for Werwulf and A Christmas Carol updates (as well as Eggers' Labyrinth sequel – Dafoe as Jareth, anyone?) as we get them.
