Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting (the dream team that bought us Terrifier 2 and 3 and the upcoming Silent Night, Deadly Night reboot) have acquired North American rights to upcoming Aussie slasher, Wolf Creek: Legacy, Variety reports today.
The third installment in the Wolf Creek film series, following 2005's Wolf Creek and 2013's Wolf Creek 2, Wolf Creek: Legacy is reportedly expected to hit theaters in the fall of 2026.
John Jarrat will return to play the psychotic Outback killer Mick Taylor, starring alongside Jay Ryan and Laura Gordon. Sean Lahiff (Carnifex, editor on Wolf Creek 2) will direct.
A plot synopsis reads as follows:
“Wolf Creek: Legacy follows a family of American tourists who wander innocently into Mick Taylor’s hunting grounds. When the parents sacrifice themselves to save their children, the kids find themselves alone, lost and hunted in the vast Australian wilderness.”
Original Wolf Creek creator Greg McLean is set to return as producer, alongside Bianca Martino under the Emu Creek Pictures banner and Jeremy Bolt. Executive producers are Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert.
Here's what McLean has to say about returning to the world of Wolf Creek:
“I’m thrilled to be returning to Wolf Creek with this exciting creative team, led by director Sean Lahiff, armed with a fantastic and genuinely frightening script […] Mick Taylor will be terrorizing tourists, horror fans and the big screen once again very soon!”
Look out for more on Wolf Creek: Legacy as we get it.
