2025 is starting off very strong for horror, with Leigh Whannell's Wolf Man just around the corner hitting theaters on January 17, and Universal have today released a brand new BTS featurette to get us even more hyped for the practical beast.
Starring Christopher Abbott (Sanctuary, Poor Things), Julia Garner (Apartment 7A) and Matilda Firth (Starve Acre), the R-rated Wolf Man follows the fallout of husband and father who is attacked by a mysterious animal on the grounds of the family's rural Oregon farmhouse:
Abbott stars as Blake, a San Francisco husband and father, who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his own father vanishes and is presumed dead. With his marriage to his high-powered wife, Charlotte (Garner), fraying, Blake persuades Charlotte to take a break from the city and visit the property with their young daughter, Ginger (Firth).
But as the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable, and Charlotte will be forced to decide whether the terror within their house is more lethal than the danger without.
Today's new featurette comes with plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits from SFX designer Arjen Tuiten, with he and Whannell both describing their influences on this new Wolf Man look, as well as Garner and Firth describing their first reactions at seeing Abbott in his full grisly get up.
Check out the new featurette below and read more on Wolf Man exclusively in the upcoming issue of FANGORIA.
