Japanese Anthology Horror Series YAMIDOUGA Coming To FOUND TV

The first volume of Kazuto Kodama's found-footage series premieres on July 17.

Cult Japanese anthology horror series Yamidouga (known as Tokyo Videos of Horror in North America) is coming to FOUND TV, with the first entry making its streaming premiere on July 17.

Additional volumes of Yamidouga will follow, all featuring new English subtitles thanks to a collaboration between FOUND TV and Japanese production company Naught Inc.

Each installment of Yamidouga is presented in mockumentary format, with interviewees sharing their found-footage horror tales from around Japan, often based on urban legends, ghost stories or exploration of haunted shinrei spots. The series started back in 2012 with Kazuto Kodama's Tokyo Videos of Horror, and has since gone on to generate at least 10 more entries.

In a statement, Yoshio Sasaki of Naught Inc. celebrates bringing the cult series to international audiences via FOUND TV:

“It’s an honor to work with Found TV to bring authentic Japanese horror to new audiences. Directed by Kazuto Kodama, Yamidouga captures a uniquely unsettling sense of fear.”

FOUND TV CEO Louie La Vella adds:

“Expanding our library into international horror is an exciting step forward for FOUND TV. It allows us to bring fresh and culturally rich storytelling to our passionate audience of found footage fans.”

Launched in October of last year, FOUND TV is the first streaming service dedicated to found-footage horror, including POV, mockumentary, and screenlife styles. Viewers can opt for an ad-supported free account or an ad-free paid subscription.
